We recently had our Whirlpool Water Heater go out.
I called Lozier Heating and Cooling and they were going to charge $75 to have someone come out and diagnose.
I decided to call the Phone Number on the Water Heater. That number was to Whirlpool and the lady on the phone helped me diagnose for free that it was the thermocouple.
In fact, Whirlpool must have had many issues with this part because they have an FG Enhancement Kit available. I had them overnight it and it worked!
One catch was that once she said it was the thermocouple, I tried to go to Lowes and purchase one. The one I got was right-hand threaded. The FG Models need a left hand threaded thermocouple. Therefore, I had to order the Enhancement Kit on a Thursday night and pay $40 for Saturnday delivery.
Don't repeat my mistake.
